Lane County and City of Springfield propose to cancel STIP Project # 21167 - Yolanda Elementary & Briggs MS Traffic Congestion Mitigation. The project is estimated to cost $1,762,160, which was funded with federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) funds approved by the Metropolitan Policy Committee, with local match funds, and is programmed to be completed in 2020.

The CMAQ funds within the Central Lane MPO may only be used for project that will result in a measurable reduction of coarse particulate emissions (PM10). While this project demonstrated a measurable reduction it did not meet the threshold of the CMAQ benefits tracking system of the Federal Highway Administration. Upon cancelation of this project, the CMAQ funds will be re-allocated at the MPC's discretion following a call-for-projects.

The public is invited to provide public comment through September 19, 2019.
