The City of Coburg is requesting Surface Transportation Program-Urban (STP-U) funds for the Coburg Loop Project. The funds will be programmed in the construction phase of Key number 16839 Coburg Loop Path. The Coburg Loop Path project was previously supported by the MPO with the programming of $498,000 of MPO STP-U funds in 2013. The completion of the federal aid process through scoping and preliminary engineering of the project has resulted in an increase in the project cost. Coburg is requesting an additional $181,200 of STP-U funds.

The staff Transportation Planning Committee (TPC) has reviewed the proposed amendment and unanimously recommends approval. Due to the project being ready to proceed to bid and scheduled for construction immediately after contract award, the City of Coburg requested, and the TPC unanimously supported, an expedited approval of the funding request. The TPC has recommended closing the public comment period after the public hearing and considering approval of the funding request at the August MPC meeting.
